Agrivoltaics at Mammoth Solar

Mammoth Solar was designed with one goal in mind: to make energy and agriculture work hand in hand. Through a practice called agrivoltaics, solar panels are thoughtfully placed to support both energy production and traditional farming activities.

This means that even while solar panels are at work, producing vital electrons, the land beneath them stays alive and productive. Farmers can plant pollinator-friendly vegetation, protect topsoil, graze livestock like sheep safely around the panels and even grow crops. The result? Healthier soil, thriving ecosystems, and a new way to keep farmland profitable for decades to come.

MAMMOTH SOLAR IS PROOF THAT RURAL INDIANA CAN LEAD THE WAY IN AMERICA’S ENERGY FUTURE WHILE STAYING TRUE TO ITS ROOTS

Key benefits of agrivoltaics:

Improves soil health by reducing erosion and maintaining ground cover

Encourages pollinator populations that help nearby crops thrive

Allows grazing under and between panels, keeping land active and accessible

Preserves farm ownership and flexibility for future generations

Reduces dust and runoff, helping protect nearby water systems

Diversifies revenue stream, maximizes land use
